Haiku

I wrote a new Haiku to cheer myself up during this long, cold, snowy winter.

Daffodil

cold months underground
patient daffodil bulb waits
warmth and springtime come

I am so excited because I’ve just discovered the joy of haiku!

Haiku is a really simple three line, 17 syllable poem.

Here is how to do it:

First line: 5 syllables

Second line: 7 syllables

Third line: 5 syllables

The possibilities are really endless for haiku poems.

Here are the two poems that I wrote today:

Words are powerful

They can bring joy or sorrow

Words can change your mind.

Writing is a strong urge

It comes when you’re busy or free

When it comes I write.
